Brothers Feni Soccer play 1-1 tie
Dhaka, April 5: Brothers Union drew 1-1 against Feni Soccer in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
Brothers Union came close to a strike in the 11th minute but Alamgir Anik placed the ball over the crosspiece from the middle of the box after midfielder Jamal Hossain sent a neat cross from the right flank.
Feni soccer forward Rowland found Brothers Union goalie Uttam Barua alone in the 14th minute but Uttam came forward and blocked the shot.
Midfielder Shahedul Alam put Feni Soccer ahead in the 37th minute. Receiving a free kick at the left flank of the box Shahed chipped the ball over Brothers goalie Uttam (1-0).
Brothers forward Kingsley Chigozie missed the chance to equalize in the 61st minute as he missed the flight of a cross sent by Malek at the top of the six yard box.
However substitute forward Towhidul Islam Siddique equalized in the 89th minute after Habib Diouf set him free at the top of the box and he beat Soccer goalie Ariful Islam with a left footer (1-1).
In the stoppage time Brothers Union’s Nigerian midfielder Adams Jankasha missed a penalty and the match ended in a draw.
Brothers Union took their tally 10 points from eight matches while Feni Soccer earned nine points from eight matches.
