Idris hat-trick sinks Brothers
Dhaka, April 25: Rahmatganj MFS registered their second victory in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League beating Brothers Union 4-0 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
Idris Kasirye, the Ugandan skipper slammed a hat-trick to present his team a win in their last match of the first phase.
Rahmatganj went up in the 31st minute when Ugandan forward Idris Kasirye headed a Sirfin Rahman Rony free kick in the far post net (1-0). Rony curved the free kick from the left flank.
Brothers Union was denied by Michael Dumba, the Nigerian defender of Rahmatganj in the 41st minute when he cleared a goal bound header of Brothers Union’s Nigerian midfielder Olalekan Joshua.
Francis doubled the margin in the 54th minute when Brothers defender Nurul Amin Shipon pulled Rahmatganj’s Nigerian forward Nche Francis down in the middle of the box and Idris converted the penalty (2-0).
Idris Kasirye completed the fourth hat-trick of the league in the 69th minute by heading the ball past Brothers goalie Uttam Barua off a cross of Sirfin Rahman Rony (3-0).
Sirfin Rahman Rony added the fourth in the 89th minute by chipping the ball over onrushing Brothers goalie Uttam Barua (4-0).
With the win Rahmatganj took their tally to nine points from 10 matches while Brothers Union remained on their previous earning of 11 points from ten matches.
