MSC, Farashganj share points
Dhaka, April 26: Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club and Farashganj Sporting Club finished their first phase of the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League with a goalless draw at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday.
With the draw, Mohammedan took their tally to 13 points from 10 matches while Farashganj earned 8 points from the same number of matches.
Both teams got several chances to take the lead but none of them became fruitful due to lack of good finishers.
Mohammedan put pressure on Farashganj from the beginning but they failed to pick up the advantage. In the 3rd minute Shariful’s square pass from the right Basden Wilcox’s diagonal shot from the middle of the box went straight to Farashganj goalie Shakil.
The traditional black and white missed another chance in the 39th minute when Shariful again provided a low cross But Wilcox failed to place the ball in his sliding effort.
After the lemon break Farashganj charged on MSC and they came to close in the 67 minute as midfielder SM Arafat chipped from the middle of the box but Ridon missed the line of the ball.
Mohammedan got winning chance in the 90th minute but substitute striker Mehedi Hasan Tapu failed to make it home having one and one situation with Farashganj goalie Shakil off a Habibur Rahman Shohag’s cross from the left flank.
