Feni Soccer Arambagh split points
Dhaka, April 27: Feni Soccer and Arambagh shared points in a 1-1 draw to complete their first phase of the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Arambagh came close to a strike in the 7th minute but midfielder Jakir Hossain’s volley on a corner of fellow midfielder Jahidul Hasan Dalim flew a few inches over the crosspiece.
However Arambagh took the lead in the 14th minute as Feni Soccer defender Okoye Victor fumbled to clear a chip of Arambagh’s Nigerian forward Elita Kingsley and his compatriot Umukoro Goodwin scored with a fierce left footer from the middle of the box (1-0).
Feni Soccer hit back in the 17th minute with their Nigerian marksman Rowland jumped timely to head a Shahran Howlader cross and the ball beat Arambagh goalie Mustafizur Rahman Shawon in the far post (1-1).
Four minutes after the break Feni Soccer defender Moudud Ahmed saved his team from conceding another goal by clearing a Elita Kingsley backvolley from the goal line.
Rowland saw his grounder in the 86th minute saved by a diving Arambagh goalie Shawon and two minutes later Maksudul Alam Bulbul shot was saved for a corner by Shawon again.
Feni Soccer has 10 points and Arambagh 09 both playing 10 matches.
