Dhaka, May 23: Sheikh Jamal beat Rahmatganj 4-2 in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday. Midfielder Sohel Rana put Jamal ahead in the 15th minute hitting the back of the net with a cracking shot form 30 yards out (1-0). Forward Towhidul Alam Sobuj doubled the lead in the 16th minute with a low header off a right hand cross of Chukwuemeka Afusi (2-0). Atikur Rahman Mishu scored the third in the 60th minute after Afusi broke the defence in the right flank and cut the ball back to Mishu who tapped home from close range (3-0). Idris Kasirye reduced the margin for Rahmatganj off a penalty in the 73rd minute (3-1). Jamal’s Nigerian forward Kester Akon missed a penalty in the 81st minute after Jamal defender Masud Rana was fouled by Moshfikuruddin Shimul but M.N. Shakil the Rahmatganj goalie dived right to block the shot. Kester however hit back in the 86th minute after running down the midfield and tapping home (4-1). Nche Francis, the Nigerian forward of Rahmatganj scored the second in the stoppage time with 20 yarder (4-2) With the win Jamal took their tally to 18 points form 14 matches while Rahmatganj stayed at the bottom of the table with nine points from 14 matches.
