Bangoura treble sink Farashganj
Dhaka, May 27: Ismael Bangoura, the Guinean forward of Team BJMC slammed the eighth hat-trick of the Bangladesh Premier League helping his team beat Farashganj 3-1 at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
Both the team came close to a strike in the first quarter of the match with Farashganj midfielder Jewel Rana trying a 20 yarder in the 26th minute that was punched for a corner by BJMC goalie Tarek. Farashganj goalie Shakil’s timely dive in the feet of Ismael Bangoura in the 34th minute saved his team from conceding a goal.
But Bangoura put his team ahead in the 43rd minute off a penalty as Cameroonian midfielder Baybeck was fouled by his Farashganj compatriot defender Mario Davis inside the box and Bangoura converted (1-0).
Bangoura added the second in the 53rd minute after playing one-two with Ajagun Abdul Rashid the Guinean forward placed the ball in the far post net from the middle of the box (2-0).
Siyo Zunapiyo reduced the margin in the 65th minute with a powerful volley on a corner of Kawser Ahmed Rajiv (2-1).
However Bangoura completed his treble in the 75th minute with neat chip over the onrushing Farashganj goalie Shakil. (3-1)
With the win BJMC took their tally 23 points from 13 points while Farashganj remained on their previous earning of 14 from 13 matches.
