AFC U-22 Group D Postponed
Dhaka, May 28: The group D matches of the AFC U-22 Championship scheduled to be held in Nepal from June 2nd has been postponed.
The political turmoil in Nepal is the main reason behind the postponement. An e-mail from AFC reached Bangladesh Football Federation on Sunday night regarding the postponement.
AFC is expected to declare the new dates within a few days as the the qualifiers must take place no later than 23rd June, which is the unified date for all seven qualifying groups.
All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) spokesperson, Lalit Krishna Shrestha informed GoalNepal.com about the position.
"We are determined to host the qualifiers in Nepal. The qualifiers may not start from 2nd of June but we are in talks with AFC for the fresh date before 23rd June", Shrestha told GoalNepal.com.
Uzbekistan, Jordan, Yemen, Nepal Bangladesh were pitted in the group D.
