Abahani beat BJMC
Dhaka, May 30: Dhaka Abahani consolidated their position at the top of the table with a 3-2 win over Team BJMC in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Tangail Stadium on Wednesday.
With the win Abahaani took their tally to 36 points from 15 matches while BJMC remained on their previous total of 23 from 14 matches.
Team BJMC went up in the very 2nd minute of the match as Nigerian midfielder Uche Felix sent a cross in the middle of the Abahani box and his compatriot forward Ajagun Abdul Rasheed slammed home with a grounder (1-0).
Abahani restored the parity through defender Ashraf Mahmud Linkon in the 22nd minute. Abahani’s Ghanaian playmaker Awudu Ibrahim curved a free kick from the top of the box anf Linkon volleyed the ball into the middle of the net (1-1).
BJMC took the lead again in the 64th minute as Felix tapped home from close range after Abahani goalie Sohel fumbled to grip a Abdullah Parvez cross from the left flank (2-1).
Abahani’s Brazilian forward Generoso Da Silva pulled his team back again in the 67th minute. Silva scored from a close range after Arman Aziz sent a cross to him from the right flank (2-2).
Twum Frank sealed victory for Abahani in the 77th minute after he and Awudu Ibrahim played a one-two and Frank scored from the middle of the box (3-2)
