Dhaka, May 30: Sheikh Russell beat Brothers Union 4-1 in the Grameephone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
Midfielder Mezbabul Huq Manik scored a hat-trick for the winners.
Sheikh Russell went up in the 31st minute as defender Bappi Hasan Murad headed a Alamu Bukola Olalekan cross into the near post (1-0).
Deedarul Alam scored the equalizer for Brothers in the 31st minute after Promise Davis sent a through pass from the midfield and Deedar placed the ball over Russell goalie Biplob (1-1).
Manik scored his first in the 59th minute with a placing shot off a cross of Faisal Mahmood (2-1) and added the second with 35 yard dipper in the 66th minute (3-1) and completed the ninth hat-trick of the league with a close range finishing on a square pass of Alamu Bukola Olalekan in the 70th minute (4-1).
With the win Russell raised their tally to 24 from 15 matches while Brothers Union remained on their previous total of 15 from 15 matches.
