Jamal beat MSC 4-2
Dhaka, June 1: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club beat Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd by 4-2 goals in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Mohammedan was reduced to ten men in the 61st minute as Nyeck Nyobe, the Cameroonian defender was sent off for second bookable offence.
Mohammedan’s Beninese midfielder Oladikpikpo Okalawon in the 4th minute unleashed a 25 yarder that was fisted by Aminul but kissed the crosspiece.
Ali Ahmed Jaward, the Sierra Lieonese midfielder of Sheikh Jamal saw his free kick from 25 yards out hit the side post in the 36th minute.
Jamal went up ahead in the 52nd minute after Nyeck Nyobe, the Cameroonian defender of Mohammedan tackled Jamal’s Nigerian forward Kester inside the box and Jaward converted the spot kick (1-0).
Nyeck Nyobe saw his second yellow card for a faul on Towhidul Alam Sobuj in the 60th minute and was sent off.
Mohammedan defender Rajani Kanto Barman pulled one back in the 65th minute heading home a corner curved by Udeh Damian Chigozie (1-1)
However Towhidul Alam Sobuj restored the lead in the 72nd minute after winger Arup Baidya sent a low cross from the right flank and Sobuj placed the ball past Titumir, the Mohammedan goalie (2-1)
Kester converted the second penalty in the 79th minute after Morsalin Parvez fouled the Nigerian in the middle of the box and Kester scored from the spot (3-1)
Sohel Rana, the substitute forward scored the fourth after Monaem Khan Raju set him free with through pass from the midfield and Sohel went past Titumir to score the goal (4-1)
In the 90th minute Mobarak reduced the margin with powerful cracker form the right edge of the box (4-2)
With the win Sheikh Jamal took their tally to 24 points from 16 matches while Mohammedan remained on their previous 21 from 15 matches.
