Dhaka, August 29: The player selection process of the Bangladesh Football Federation’s (BFF) Football Academy, Sylhet will kick off across the country on September 1.
The preliminary selection will be done by the 40 coaches of the federation and the local coaches will assist them. The preliminary selection is expected to finish on September 15.
Badal Roy, chairman of the Development Committee discussed the options with the coaches on Monday at BFF House. “We will select 10 footballers from each upazilla and among them five will be U-14 and the other five will be U-18. At upazilla level, the number of footballers will be around five thousand, and then 640 footballers will be selected from the 64 districts. The next step will see the number reduced to 120 and in the final selection process 30 U14 and 30 U18 footballers will be called up for the academy,” said Badal.
Badal added that, to keep the selection process transparent, a number of BFF officials will also be involved in the process.
