SAFF Women: India beat Bangladesh 3-0
Dhaka, Sept 07: Bangladesh Women team lost to India 3-0 in a
rain interrupt Group A match of the Second SAFF Women’s Championship 2012 at
the Ceylon Rugby & Football Club ground, Colombo, Sri Lanka on Friday.
Bangladesh played very well before the lemon break and they
were able to hold India 0-0 until first half.
But after the break, India controlled the match and Kamla
Devi broke the dead lock in the 66th minute when her powerful shot from
the penalty box beat Bangladesh Goalkeeper Sabina Akter.
Bembem Devi of India doubled the lead in the 78th
minute by a volley shot from the box after defender Sharmin Akter Rupa failed
to clear a ball.
Bangladesh conceded third goal in the stoppage time when
Indian forward Alachona Senpati tapped in on a corner kick of Bembem Devi.
The match was stopped to play by referee for sometimes for unplayable
condition of the ground due to heavy rainfall.
Bangladesh will face Bhutan on Sunday at the same stadium.
