Dhaka, October 8: Muktijoddha thrashed Noakhali Football Academy 7-1 in the group B match of the Grameenphone Federation Cup at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday. Substitute Noakhali goalie Minhaj was sent off in the 89th minute for handling the ball outside the box. After a barren first half Muktijoddha took the lead in the 51st minute through midfielder Jewel Rana. Taking a Shyamal Ahmed Rony cutback in the middle of the box Jewel Rana hit the far post net with a left footer (1-0). Midfielder Ajmal Hossian Bidyut doubled the lead in the 54th minute from the top of the box with a powerful grounder after Jahed Parvez Chowdhury fed him with a square pass (2-0). Bidyut scored the third heading home a corner of Faisal Mahmud in the 59th minute (3-0) In the 62nd minute Faisal Mahmud saw his intended cross from he left flank curved crashed inside the far post with Noakhali goalie Shushil standing out of position (4-0). Substitute forward Shihab fired a cracker in the 74th minute (5-0) and another substitute Md. Biplob made it 6-0 in the 75th minute. Murad of Noakhali scored a consolation off a penalty in the 79th minute after Prodip Barua fouled Monu in the middle of the box (6-1). Midfielder Shyamal Ahmed Rony scored the seventh from a goal mouth melee in the 85th minute to seal the match. (7-1)
