Dhaka, October 9: Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd registered their second consecutive victory in the Grameenphone Federation Cup with a 3-0 win over Bangladesh Police at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday. Mohammedan put pressure from the very beginning and Police goalie Jafrul Islam twice denied Mohammedan in the 13th minute. Jafrull punched Maruf’s long ranger and again blocked Wasio Olalekan’s placing on the re-bounder. In the 11th minute Police forward Kabirul Islam saw his cross punched for a corner by Mohammedan goalie Titumir. Mohammedan midfielder Shariful hit the crosspiece from the top of the box in the 28th minute. But midfielder Sohel Rana put Mohammedan ahead in the 29th minute. Taking control of a cross of Mobarak Shohel Rana blasted home from the middle of the box (1-0). Sohel Rana doubled the margin in the 69th minute after Wasio Olalekan’s shot deflected from a defender and Sohel saw his shot beat Jafrul (2-0). In the 75th minute winger Shariful hit the far post net with a grounder after taking control of a through pass of Motiur Munna (3-0). Mohammedan earlier beat Rampur Boy’s club Feni 4-0 and will meet Sheikh Russell in the last match of the group on 12th October. With two losses in two matches Bangladesh Police crashed out of the tourney.
