Dhaka, October 10: Sheikh Russell confirmed the quarterfinal of the Grameenphone Federation with a 6-0 victory over Rampur Boy’s Club, Feni in a group A match at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday. Russell forward Jahid Hasan Emily slammed the third hat-trick in the final round after Wasio Olalekan of Mohammedan and Shajib of Feni Soccer. The win also confirmed Dhaka Mohammedan’s presence in the last eight and the group championship will be decided on Friday. Rampur and Bangladesh Police crashed out with consecutive defeats. Rusesll took the lead in the 9th minute through Jahid Hasan Emily who placed the ball in the near post. Emily got the ball after Rampur goalie Arifuzzaman Titu blocked a powerful shot of Russell’s Moroccan midfielder Tarik el Janaby and Emily got the re-bounder (1-0). Winger Jahid Hossain sent a low cross for Haitian forward Sony Norde in the 14th minute and Norde placed the ball in the far post from the middle of the box (2-0) Moroccan midfielder Md. AbouKacem scored the third in the 25th minute off a low cross of Jahid Hossain (3-0). Emily scored his second in the 41st minute off a penalty. Rampur Boy’s goalie Titu fouled AbouKacem and referee pointed to the spot. Emily converted it (4-0) Sony Norde collected his second in the 65th minute with a cool finishing. Carrying a Mithun Chowdhury through the Haitian placed the ball into the far post net (5-0) Emily completed his hat-trick in the 75th minute flicking a Jahid cross from a close range (6-0)
