Dhaka, October 18: Sheikh Russell KC will meet Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd in the first semifinal of the Grameenphone Federation Cup football at the Bangabandhu National Stadium at 5:00 pm on Friday. It will be the second face-off between the two teams in the same tournament and in the group phase Russell beat Mohammedan 2-0 in the last match of group ‘A’. Jahid Hossain and Zahid Hasan Emily scored one goal each for Russell. However both the teams vowed to start a new match with new vision and were focused to get into the final. The coaches of both the teams were asking not to repeat the mistakes they have committed in the quarterfinals. Russell coach Maruful Haque asked his players specially his forwards to keep cool. “They got excited and anxious when they missed a number of chances in the quarterfinal, I don’t want to see that again, Mohammedan is a good team and we have to avail the chances to win the match” said Maruf. His counterpart Saiful Bari Titu was eager to fix his defence. “I don’t want to see my defence concede goals to ruin our hardwork, the defence must gel as a unit, with the inclusion of the foreigners we now have the power to fight Russell, however I admit Russell is ahead of us in overall balance” said Titu
