Dhaka, October 19: Sheikh Russell moved into the final of the Grameenphone Federation Cup beating Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd by 2-1 goals at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday. Russell was reduced to ten men as winger Jahid Hossain was shown the red card in the 76th minute. Mohammedan took the lead in the 7th minute as Ghanaian midfielder Mostafa Ibrahim curved a nice cross to his compatriot Osai Morrison at the top of the box and Morrison made his way through the defence before placing the ball past Russell goalie Biplob (1-0) Russell pressed hard for an equalizer and in the 31st minute midfielder Mamunul Islam shot straight to Mohammedan goalie Mamun Khan. After the break Russell continued the trend and Mamunul Islam was unfortunate when his free kick hit form 25 yards hit the side post. However Russell got the their equalizer in the 58th minute through their Moroccan forward Mohammed Aboukacem. Jahid Hossain did the hard work in the right flank and provided a square pass to Aboukacem who just had to tap it home (1-1). In the 66th minute Jahid saw his cracking right footer rock the Mohammedan crosspiece. Jahid was sent off in the 76th minute when referee Tayeb Hasan showed the second yellow card to him for kicking a dead ball in the body of Sohel Rana who was felled by Mamunul. The game was disrupted for nine minutes for the incident. In the last minute of the nine minute added time Zahid Hasan Emily headed the winner off a corner of Mamunul Islam (2-1)
