Salahuddin said it was his commitment to assist the district leagues. “I promised three things before the election to begin district football, football academy and to develop the national team. I need your (DFAs) help to make the first one successful. We have an elected executive committee; you can come to us anytime if you face any problem,” said Salahuddin.
“I insist on to start district football league as early as possible, set the target to start the league by December. After the leagues, every district champions will fight for their respective divisional title. The final round will be held in Dhaka. That’s the basic plan,” added the BFF president. “I have been waited a long time for this day. Question might have risen why I didn’t start district football league earlier. What I did in last four years? The professional leagues were not held regularly when I came here and my aim was to make it happen on regular basis. I tried my best and now you see the result. Bangladesh league, federation cup, super league were held every season in last four years. If the district football begins from today, it will be next big thing after 3 or 4 years. In future they will play in the professional league,” concluded Salahuddin.
