Dhaka, November 14: Ghanaian
striker Osei Morrison hat-trick helped Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited to
register a 3-0 victory over Brothers Union in their opening match of the
Grameenphone Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Wednesday.
Two teams tried to take the lead
in the first half but their efforts went in vain due to lack of skilled finishers.
After barren first half, Osei Morrison broke the dead lock for Mohammedan in the 57th minute. Taking a
through pass from Sohel Rana, the Ghanaian striker dodged pass two defenders
and onrushing Brothers goalie Piaruzzaman Piru before placing the ball in the middle of net. (1-0).
Morisson doubled the lead in the
70th minute with a powerful right footed shot from the middle of the
box on a cutback off Midfielder Shariful Islam from the right flank. (2-0).
The Ghanaian completed his
hat-trick in the stoppage time from a penalty. Brothers goalie Piaruzzaman Piru
brought down Md. Robin in the penalty area and referee Abdul Hannan whistled
for penalty. Morrison converted the spot kick. (3-0)
