Muktijoddha Sangsad KC beat Brothers Union 2-0 in the Grammenphone Bangladesh
Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday.
Brothers first came close to taking
a lead in the 20th minute but Brazilian striker Garcia Anderson’s
shot was saved by Mutijoddha custodian Ziaur Rahman Zia.
Muktijoddha also could have taken lead in the 25th
minute but Jewel Rana’s 30 yards shot hit the crosspiece.
Muktijoddha went ahead in the 26th
minute through Brazilian striker Thiago Silva who lifted a ball over onrushing
goalie Piaruzzaman Piru from just outside the box capitalising on a through
pass from winger Nigerian midfielder Joseph Ozurumba. (1-0)
The Brazilian doubled the lead in
the 34th minute sending the ball over goalkeeper Piru from top of
the box after Brothers defenders failed to control a lob from Nigerian striker Chigozie Darlinghton. (2-0).
Muktijodda took their tally to 6
points from two matches while Brothers Union still failed to open account as the Gopibagoutfits conceded second consecutive defeat in
this league.
