Dhaka, November 30: Bangladesh national football coach Saiful Bari Titu hopes to win the title of the Mahinda Rajapaksha U-23 Football scheduled to kick off from December 3rd at Colombo.
The Bangladesh team flew to Sri Lanka at 12:45 pm, Friday.
Titu was hopeful because regional powerhouse India is not playing in the tournament. “In the SAAF region India is the powerhouse but Bangladesh always goes to play a SAFF region tourney to win the title, we will be playing against Maldives, Pakistan and hosts Sri Lanka, I think Bangladesh has every chance of winning the title” said Titu.
However Titu warned his players about the complacency. “It is age level tournament and almost all the teams are equal in strenght, there is no scope of complacency, Mladives has a good youth developemnt program, Pakistan is physically strong and hosts Sri Lanka will be enjoyinng the home advantage, so there is no option of feeling any superiority” said Titu.
However scoring goals remainned as the major headeache for the coach. “Wasting the oppurtunities and not succeeding to convert the half chances upfornt is the major concern, I will try my best to gel the team as a total unit” concluded Titu.
