Dhaka, December 2: Bangladesh U-23 football team start their Mahinda Rajapkashe Trophy campaign against Pakistan at the newly built Jayathilake Satdium, Kandy at 2:30 pm BST on Monday.
Bangladesh team completed the fine tuning for the upcoming challenges at the Qomapala Ground on Sunday and head coach Saiful Bari Titu was busy to charge his militia. “All I want to say that our team has the blend of youth and experience, there are a number of players who have represented the national side against Thailand and Malaysia, I hope they will deliver when it requires, the players have the experience of bouncing back as they did against Malaysia, I want to see the fighting temperament among them” said Titu.
Titu was not downbeat about some of his player’s lack of match practices. “Yes, some players are not regular players in the premier league for their clubs, but they have the experience of training with the good foreign players. All I want to say if we play good football we can beat any team” said Titu.
Meanwhile Pakistan, under their Serbian coach Zavisa Milosavljevic prepared for the tournament with a couple of practice matches against Singapore U-23. There are a number of national team players in the U-23 side and among them skipper Kaleemullah, Faisal Iqbal, Md. Adil, Hasnain Abbas and Saeed Ahmad has the experience of playing against Bangladesh.
“We played two practice matches with Singapore U-23 team and Singapore National Team. We lost both the matches by 1-0 and 4-0 but that gives us experience of tough matches. Basically this is the U 22 team who played in Saudi Arabia” said Zavisa.
