Dhaka, December 13: Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd bounced back to the winning ways with a 3-1 win over Sheikh Russell in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday. Mohammedan shocked the newly crowned Federation Cup champions in the very 3rd minute as Mohammedan winger Shariful carrying a pass of midfielder Mejbabul Huq Manik curved a cross from the edge of the box and the ball dipped into the far post net over hapless Russell goalie Biplob (1-0). Russell forward Emily headed a Sony Norde free kick past Mohammedan side post in the 29th minute. Mohammedan doubled the lead in the 70th minute through their Nigerian forward Augustine Chizoba as the Nigerian made his way through the defence and placed the ball in the far post net with a delicate touch (2-0) Mohammedan’s Ghanaian forward Osie Morrison sealed the fate of the match in the 80th minute as he capitalized a hesitation of Russell goalie Biplob and Abbas Inusah- who failed to clear a goal kick allowing the Morrison to tap the ball inside the net (3-0) Emily reduced the margin in the 84th minute as Sony Norde ran down the right flank and sent a square pass to Emily who placed the ball in the near post with his left foot (3-1) Russell tasted their first defeat in the second match and they have three points while Mohammedan has six form three matches.
