Dhaka, January 3: Team BJMC beat Brothers Union 2-0 in the lone match of the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday. Team BJMC took the lead in the 11th minute after midfielder Saiful curved a corner from the left hand flag and Guinean forward Ismael Bangoura headed the ball home (1-0) Brothers Union failed to equalize in the 14th minute but their Nigerian forward Elita Kingsley who captured the ball off a fumble of BJMC defender Keshto shot the ball wide from the top of the box. Brothers were unlucky in the 17th minute when midfielder Rashedul Alam Moni’s cross hit the crosspiece after beating goalie Aminul in the air. BJMC sealed the fate of the match in the 55th minute with a headed strike of substitute forward Tokilis Ahmed. Ismael Bangoura curved the cross that beat Brothers goalie Piru in the air and Toklis headed the ball into the net (2-0) With the win Team BJMC took their tally to eight points from six matches while Brothers Union remained at the bottom of the table with no points from six matches.
