Dhaka, January 17: Team BJMC beat Arambagh 2-0 in their last match of first phase in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Thursday. Team BJMC took the lead in the 28th minute when Nigerian midfielder Henry Chindo was in the right position to head a Toklis Ahmed cross in the far post net (1-0). However Arambagh hit back with a series of counter attacks but still failed to score a goal. In the 44th minute Nigerian winger Benebene Faticho curved a precise cross and Nigerian forward Ujmefun Joel was about to receive it in the middle of the box, BJMC goalie Aminul came forward to fist the ball to safety. In the last minute of the stoppage time of the first half Benebene again unleashed a long ranger but Aminul fisted the ball for a corner. In the 88th minute BJMC’s Nigerian forward Elita Kinglsey failed to tap a low cross of Ismael Bangoura from the middle of the bbox. But Guinean forward Bangoura did not make a mistake in the second minute of the stoppage time as he dribbled past two defenders and placed the ball past onrushing Arambagh goalie Mitul Hasan (2-0) Team BJMC finished their first phase with 11 points from 8 games while Arambagh remained in their previous collection of three points from eight matches.
