Dhaka, January 24: Bangladesh Football Federation will host the Bangabandhu International Gold Cup football comprising eight countries in October next. The decision was taken by the executive committee meeting of the Bangladesh Football Federation on Thursday. BFF president Kazi Salahuddin presided over the meeting. Salahuddin was looking forward to host his first international football tourney. “I have been in discussion with Malaysia, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Thailand, Myanmar and India about the tournament, a number of teams has confirmed their participation, if the other targeted teams express unavailability then I will start contact with other countries” said Salahuddin at his office after the meeting.Meanwhile BFF also will host the Super Cup, the tourney with a prize money of Tk. one crore in April and May. The meeting decided to appoint Abu Naeem Shohag as the general secretary of the BFF. Shohag has been performing the job of acting general secretary since the death of Al Musabbir Sadi in May 2011. Sadi was the paid general secretary of BFF and Shohag will the second.
