Dhaka, January 28: Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club played a goalless draw against Team BJMc in their opening match of the second leg of the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Monday.
Team BJMC initiated the first close move in the 31st minute but Nigerian forward Ajagun Abdur Rasheed failed to take control of a cross curved by Nigerian teammate Elita Kingley in the middle of the box. In the added time of the first half Team BJMC’s Nigerian midfielder Henry Chindo headed an Abul Hossian corner towards the Jamal post but defender Yamin Munna kicked the ball to safety. Jamal forward Sohel Rana let his team down in the very next minute as he placed an Augustine Chizoba through pass wide off the side post. Yamin Munna was in the center of the action again in the 53rd minute as his looping shot missed the BJMC side post. In the 63rd minute substtitue forward Towhidul Alam Sabuj found BJMC goalie Aminul Haque alone but shot wide. The draw saw Jamal took their tally to 19 from nine matches while BJMC earned 12 from the same number of matches.
