Dhaka, January 29: Brothers Union started their second phase of the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League with a 4-1 victory over Dhaka Mohammedan at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday. Mohammedan took the lead in the 6th minute after their new Nigerian midfielder Ejike Francis sent a through from the midfield and Nigerian Osie Morrison beat advancing Brothers goalie Sobuj Das Roghu with a placing shot (1-0). Brothers Union’s Brazilian forward Garcia Anderson hit the Mohammedan sidepost with a free kick in the 22nd minute. Nigerian forward Kingsley Chigozie scored the equalizer in the 37th minute after his compatriot Adams Jankasha send a through from the midfield and Kingsley placed the ball into the net from the six yard box (1-1). In the added time of the first half Nigerian midfielder Samson Illiasu put Brothers ahead with a grounder after a free kick of Khan Md. Tara deflected from the Mohammedan defence (2-1). Adams Jankasa put Brothers on a two goal lead in the 57th minute with a fine goal. The defender ran past the Mohammedan defence carrying a chip of Kingsley Chigozie and fired the ball past Mamun Khan (3-1) Kingsley Chigozie scored the fourth in the 68th minute as he headed a Garcia Anderson cross in the near post (4-1) Brothers Union took their tally to seven points form nine matches while Mohammedan remained on their previous 13 from also from nine matches.
