Victoria beat Rahmatganj
Dhaka, February 12: Selim Reza’s brace helped Victoria Sporting Club to register a 2-1 win over Rahmatganj MFS in the Premier Bank Bangladesh Championship League at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
Victoria's early attacking instincts earned them the lead in the very 2nd minute of the match. Midfielder Selim Reza’s shot on a cross of winger Kawsar Ali Rabbi beat Rahmatganj goalie Sujon Chowdhury. (1-0)
It was midfielder Selim Reza who again doubled the margin in the 25th minute by a chip over advancing Rahmatganj custodian from an acute angle from the left. (2-0)
After conceding two goals Rahmatganj initiated several attacked first half and second half but most of their chances spoiled by Victoria’s goalie Abu Taleb Md. Mohsin.
In the 38th minute Rahmatganj's left winger Sabbir 's shot from the box was saved by Abu Taleb who dived to the right.
Rahmatganj again came to close to a goal in the 49th minute but again Victoria goalie spoiled their chance by punching away Atikul Islam shot on a minus of Moloy Barman for corner.
In the last minute of the three minute stoppage time Atikul Islam reduced the margin with a placing shot after receiving a Moloy Barman cross from the right flank. (2-1)
