Dhaka, February 22: Lodewijk de Kruif and Rene Koster, the Dutch head coach and the assistant coach of Bangladesh national team arrived at Dhaka on Friday morning. Lodewijk de Kruif, the head coach vowed to work hard and take Bangladesh football to a new height after his arrival. About the new jobMe and Rene are here to honour the request of BFF president Kazi Salahuddin, with our arrival I think Bangladesh football enters the Dutch era. I am looking forward to work hard and take Bangladesh football to a new height, many people ask that though football is a popular game in Bangladesh it has not flourished to the expected level, I hope I will be able boost up Bangladesh football. About the national teamWell, I saw a few matches in my previous visit and I think I saw 80 percent of the national players, it was not adequate for judging the players, though I don’t gave much time I hope to establish a good communication with the players and trim it to 22 or something like that, I have to see how they play the game, their skill levels, the teamwork and other aspects, after that I can reach a conclusion. About the AFC Challenge Cup QualifiersPalestine is a good team and they have demonstrated good performances against India recently, my work will to judge the quality of Bangladesh footballers and the level of adaptation, then we can sort out in which areas we will work, to adapt a new system, the players need time, we have only ten days time, however I look forward to put a decent show. The national team is expected to fly to Nepal on February 25th and is scheduled to meet Palestine, Nepal and Northern Mariana Islands on March 2nd, 4th and 6th respectively.
