Dhaka, March 02: A 23-member Bangladesh
team will fly on Sunday for Sri Lanka
to play AFC U-14 Girl’s Regional Championship to be held from 5th to
10th March in Colombo. Bangladesh are in group A with Sri
Lanka, Bhutan,
India, Iran and Tajikistan. The team will play with
Iran, India, Tajikistan,
Bhutan
and Sri Lank in the 5th, 6th, 7th, 9th
and 10th March respectively. For participating AFC will provide only USD 4 thousand. The rest of the
money will be given by BFF. BFF women wing chairman Sirajul Islam Bachchu disclosed these in a meet
the press at BFF House on Saturday. AFC are arranging this championship first time instead of the U-14
festival as it was held before in a festive mood. “FIFA always want to develop football from the age level. That is why AFC Women
committee decided in Vietnam
last year that U-14 girls’ championship will be held instead of festival from
the next year. said Mahfuza Akter Kiron, deputy chairman, BFF women wings. Team head coach Abdur Razzaque was happy with team preparation, “We first
started with 40 players 40 days ago. I have modeled them as I can do. I hope
the team will go ahead. I found them very hard working and motivated. There is
no injury in my team. All are very fit in physically and mentally.” Team captain Lipi also hope good results for her team. “We hope that we
will bring good results for our country.” said captain. BFF General secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag and other BFF and team officials
