U-16: MSC, Muktijoddha in final
Dhaka, March 06: Mohammedan
Sporting Club and Muktijoddha Sangsad KC reached the final of Grameenphone U-16 Football Tournament
on Wednesday.
In the first semifinal,
Muktijoddha beat Soccer Club Feni 6-5 in the penalty shootout at Bangabandhu National Stadium.
The match ended goalless in the
stipulated time. After the first five shots of the shootout, the result was
also 4-4, the match went into sudden death. Tajbir and Shimul scored in last
two shot for Muktijoddha while Saikat netted but Nazmul failed for Soccer.
In the first five shootout, Asik,
Ibrahim, Piash, Shiplo, Tajbir and Shamim scored but Badsha failed for
Muktijoddha while Shakil, Faizullah, Mehedi, Rasel and Saikat netted but Al
Amin failed for Soccer club.
Mohammedan Sporting Club Ltd sank 10 men Brothers Union 2-0 at same stadium in the second semifinal.
Mohammedan went ahead in the 17th
minute through their striker Johurul Islam who pushed home on a rebound after
his placing shot beating goalie Bepul Mia but hit the side post.
Brothers Union were reduced 10 men when Defender Jewel of was sent off in the 33rd minute by referee Mizanur Rahman showing direct red card.
Bipul Ahmed doubled the lead in
the 83th minute by a fierce left footer from the edge of box.
