Dhaka, March 15: Bangladesh Football Federation president Kazi Salahuddin hoped the relationship between Bangladesh and Qatar will be a sustainable one and will put a good impact in BFF’s quest of developing the game in the country. Salahuddin was speaking in press conference after receiving Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani the president of Qatar Football Association and FIFA Executive Committee seat representing the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) election candidate Hassan Al Thawadi at Dhaka on Friday. Salahuddin hoped for a bright future. “ It’s a beginning of a new relationship, 4 weeks back I visited Qatar and he agreed to extend assistance to develop football, we are looking forward to a bright future, we had discussions about the academy, the vision 2022 and other aspects” said Salahuddin. Al Thawadi discussed his campaign agenda with BFF president Kazi Salhauddin in detail focusing on listening and understanding to the needs and requirements of Asian Football Confederation member associations with the overall aim of fostering a renwed atmosphere of unity and dialogue across the AFC. Al Thawadi also stressed on the responsibility that the AFC and its member associations have in ensuring that football plays a positive role in the society and its potential to improve lives is utilized across Asia. Al Thawadi said the development roadmap is to be made by Bangladesh and he believed with population of the 160 million Bangladesh can be a powerhouse.
