BJMC, Arambagh match tied
Dhaka, March 18: Arambagh Krira Sangha held Team BJMC into a goalless draw in the Group C of ATN Bangla Independence Cup Football at the Bangabandhu ational Stadium on Monday.
Both teams initiated several attacks but failed to score due to poor finishing.
Team BJMC got the first chance to take the lead in the 13th minute but Nigerian forward Eleta Kingsley missed it as he saw his shot missed side post on a pass of Omar Fauk Babu.
Arambagh came close to scoring in the 21st minute but Ugandan striker Idris Kasirye’s placing shot on a cross of Kester Akon was saved by former national goalie Aminul Haque diving to his right. The ball went to midfielder Sabuj Kumar Biswas who took shot again but Aminul blocked the ball brilliantly.
Sabuj Kumar Das of Arambagh again missed another chance in the 57th minute as his shot hit outside of the net after Kester Akon put a pass to him.
BJMC initiated a counter attack one minute later but Arambagh goalie Masud Rana brilliantly saved national booter Taklis Ahmed volley shot from the box.
Cameroonian midfielder Jean Jules Ikanga thwart BJMC to move ahead in the 80th minute as his header went inches over the crosspiece on a cross of defender Kesto Kumar.
Another opportunity came for BJMC in the 85th minute but Mahadi Hasan Tapu headed straight to the goalie Masud’s gloves on a curling cross of Abdullah Parvez.
