BFF vows full support to DFA's
Dhaka, March 23: Bangladesh Football Federation urged it’s affiliated District Football Associations (DFA) to chalk-out a comprehensive plan in order to boost the game at the grass root levels.
BFF organized a meeting with the representatives of the 61 DFAs at the Hotel Purbani on Saturday. The high-ups of the Prime Bank, the sponsors of the countrywide district league footballs were also present in the meeting.
It was revealed that a total of 45 districts have included them in the time-frame of the competition with four already completing their respective leagues. The ongoing month will see the kick-off in another 19 districts and within June next, all the 45 district leagues will be completed.
Kazi Salahuddin, the president of BFF wanted a well knit framework. “BFF will continue all the possible support to the DFA’s, without the contribution of the grass root it is impossible to raise the standards, I urge you all to start the league in September and in the winter season to ensure a smooth hosting” said Salahuddin.
Monjur Kader, the president of BFF’s District Football League Committee vowed to find sponsors for the district leagues. “You just have to pick the sponsors, we will take the required steps to bring them in for the football and it will be two pronged process’ said Kader.
Sirajuddin Mollah, the chairman of the Prime Bank expressed satisfaction over the involvement with football. “We are happy to be associated with football and we have observed good stimuli in the district leagues, with combined effort we believe the golden days of football can be revived” said Sirajuddin.
The meeting also decided to take the required steps for running the league in the 19 districts that are yet to kick-off their campaign.
