Dhaka, March 24: Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra tasted their first win in the group C of the ATN Bangla Independence Cup football beating a ten men Arambagh 3-0 at the Kamalapur stadium on Sunday.
Muktijoddha initiated the first attack in the 14th minute their Nigerian midfielder Joseph Uzurumba sending a chip from the midfield and Akramuzzan shot straight to Arambagh goalie Masud Rana.
In the 14th minute Arambagh’s Nigerian forward Kester Akon was shown the red card for hitting Muktijoddha defender Zahirul Islam off the ball. In the 34th minute Arambagh’s Nigerian forward Ujumefun Joel saw his curved shot miss the angle of the Muktijoddha post by a few inches. Muktijoddha took the lead in the 46th minute after Uzrumba sent a lob in the middle of the Arambagh box Nigerian forward Darlington placed the ball past the defence into the far post (1-0). Kanchan doubled the lead in the 55th minute as he headed a cross of Brazilian midfielder Tyson Silva in the far post net of Masud Rana (2-0) Darlington scored his second in the 72nd minute after substitute forward Yusuf cut a low cross from the right flank and Darlington tapped the ball home (3-0). Muktijoddha now has four points with the match against Team BJMC in their hand. Arambagh remained on the their previous earning of one point and they will face Chittagong Abahani in their last match.
