Dhaka, March 25: Team BJMC beat Chittagong Abahani 2-0 in a group C match of the ATN Bangla Independence Cup at the Kamalapur stadium on Monday. Team BJMC took the lead in the very 4th minute of the match due to a fumble of Chittagong Abahani defender Shawkat Khan, Shawkat tried a back head to his goalkeeper Md. Salimullah but it was too weak to reach the goalie and Assogba Allen took the possession of the ball and chipped it in the far post net (1-0). Chittagong Abahani got a chance to level the scoreline but forward Sohel Miah’s fierce grounder was coolly taken by BJMC goalie Aminul in the 23rd minute. Ismael Bangoura, the Guinean forward of BJMC doubled the lead in the 56th minute after he ran down the right flank with a long ball of defender Ramjan and beat Shalimullah with a cracking shot in the far post net (2-0) The victory saw BJMC level with Muktijoddha with four points and both the team will lock horns in their last group match to decide the group championship. Chittagong Abahani will face Arambagh in their match but it would just a formality for them.
