Dhaka, April 09: Team
BJMC were held to a 1-1 by Brothers Union in the 2nd leg of the Grameenphone
Bangladesh Premier League at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
In the first leg BJMC beat Brothers 2-0.
Kingsley Chigozie put Brothers ahead in the 19th
minute. After capitalizing a pass from midfielder Yousuf Sifat, the Nigerian
forward skipped past an opponent defender to break into BJMC's territory and
then took a powerful shot straight to the goalkeeper from the edge of the box
which went into the slipping BJMC goalie Aminul Haque’s hand. (1-0)
BJMC restored the parity through their Guinean striker
Ismael Bangoura in the 30th minute. Striker Toklis provided a square pass to
unmarked Banguora who placed the ball with right footer over the advancing
goalkeeper Sobuj Das Roghu in the near
post. (1-1)
BJMC had chance went ahead but striker Ismael Bangoura’s shot was cleared by a defender in the 70th
minute.
In the 77th minute midfielder Parvez’s shot went
wide on a cutback of Ismael Bangoura.
Kingsley squandered another chance for Brothers in the 84th
minute as his shot went outside deflecting opponent defender Ramjan Ali Mollah’s body.
With this draw, Team BJMC earned 20 points from 14 matches
while Brother Union gathered 11 points their account from the same number of
encounters.
