Dhaka, April 10: Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club edged past Muktijoddha Sangsad 1-0 in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandu National Stadium on Wednesday.
Mohammedan initiated the first onslaught in the 13th minute as Ghanaian forward Osie Morrison dribbled past the defence and even also the onrushing Muktijoddha custodian Ziaur Rahman with through pass of Ude Damien but saw his placing shot miss the open net. In the 53rd minute Osie Morrison was in the center of action again. Sesam Idou, the Nigerian playmaker paved the way for Morrison who cut a curling shot that missed the side post by a few inches. Midfielder Mezbabul Haque Manik broke the deadlock in the 62nd minute as he kept his cool to control a cut-back of Morrison and placed the ball in the far post net (1-0) Muktijoddha midfielder Jewel Rana came close to score the equalizer in the 85th minute but slammed his left footer over the crosspiece from the middle of the box. With the win Mohammedan took their tally to 24 points from 15 matches while Muktijoddha remained on their previous collection of 16 points from 15 matches.
