Dhaka, April 30: Arambagh Krira Sangha edged past Brothers Union 1-0
in the 2nd leg of Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu
National Stadium on Tuesday. In the first leg, Arambagh lost to Brothers 2-0 at the same stadium. Midfielder Khokon Das broke the deadlock and scored the winning goal for
Arambagh in the 48th minute. Nigerian forward Kester Akon’s cross
from the left wing found Khokon after a deflection off an opponent defender.
Khokon sent the ball into the net with a powerful 20-yard right footer. Brothers Union had a chance to level the score in the 62nd
minute but Brazilian forward Garcia Anderson header was saved by Arambagh goalie
Masud Rana who dived to the right for corner. With this win Arambagh took their tally to 9 points from 15 matches
while Brothers Union remained their previous earning of 11 points from the same
number of encounters.
