Dhaka, May 02: Muktijoddha
Sanghsad KC finished their league campaign with a 4-1 victory over Abahani
Limited in the Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League at the Bangabandhu
National Stadium on Thursday. Muktijoddha also held Abahani Ltd 0-0 in the first leg. Muktijoddha kept pressure from the very beginning and secured a goal
in the 2nd minute through Nigerian midfielder Joseph Ozurumba. The
Nigerian midfielder placed the rebounder in to the net after forward Md. Biplob
shot was blocked by Abahani goalie Shahidul Alam Sohel on a cross of Brazilian
forward Tyson Silva. (1-0) Midfielder Zahed Parvez Chowdhury doubled the lead for Muktijoddha in
the 19th minute. Joseph Ozurumba put a square pass to Zahed Parvez
whose placing shot hit the back of net. (2-0) Abahani came back in the match in the 42nd minute when
midfielder Abdul Baten Majumder Komol tapped a ball in the net on a cross of Ghanaian
midfielder Awudu Ibrahim from the left flank. Ozurumba was very close to third goal in the 45th minute
but defender Shawkat Russell saved Abahani to concede another goal as he blocked
Ozurumba’s shot from the goal line. The Nigerian hitman Ozurumba scored his second and third for
Muktijoddha in the 60th minute with a placing shot from the box after
capitalizing a through pass of Tyson Silva. (3-1) Midfielder Azmal Hossain Biddyut sealed the victory for Muktijoddha in
the injury time with a powerful shot from the adge of the box. (4-1) With this win, Muktijoddha took their tally to 19 points from 16
matches while Abahani Ltd remained their previous earning of 29 points from the
same number of encounters.
