Dhaka, May 7: Champions Sheikh Russell completed their Grameenphone Bangladesh Premier League campaign with a 2-1 win over Feni Soccer at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday.
Russell’s Nigerian forward Alamu Bukola Olalekan put his team ahead in the 16th minute beating Feni Soccer goalie Abdul Kader with a side heel on a low cross of Haitian attacker Sony Norde (1-0).
In the 37th minute Feni Soccer’s midfielder Alauddin saw his sidevolley beat Russell goalie Biplob but miss the sidepost. Just a minute after the resumption Bukola unleashed fierce shot from the top o f the box but Kader punched it to safety.
Emily doubled the lead in the 65th minute ads he placed a Sony Norde square pass past Kader from the middle of the box (2-0).
Soccer midfielder Shahran Hawladar reduced the margin with long range shot in the 67th minute (2-1).
Sony Norde of Russell was sent off by Referee Jasim Uddin in the injury time for fighting each other in the field.
The win saw Russell finish their campaign with 38 points while Feniu Soccer remained on their previous collection of 12.
