Dhaka, May 20. The group B qualifiers of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup kicks-off at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Tuesday. Philippines and Iran will play at 4:00 pm while Thailand and hosts Bangladesh will lock horns at 7:00 pm. BTV will telecast the matches live. The excerpts of the official pre-match conference held on Monday at the BFF House are as follows Thailand head coach Piyakul Kawnamkang We don’t take the hosts lightly. We are well aware of the hosts. It will create pressure on us if the crowds appeared in the stadium like the media and officials of BFF.
We played five practice matches against the local clubs in our 90-day preparation. Every team is same to us and we will field our best eleven against the Bangladesh too. The difference between Bangladesh and Thailand is tactics. Ranking is not a factor. Bangladesh head coach Syed Golam JilaniWe have practised for one and half month and played three practice matches in Kolkata where we won two and drew one. I have worked on players' fitness during this time. We hope we will give better football,"
"Upset. It's hard to tell whether we could make upset or not. Thailand is ranked 29th in the Fifa ranking. The difference is evident between us. We are playing for seven years where they are playing the game for three or four decades, we are weaker than them." Iran coach Helena Costa We know it's very difficult. Considering the ranking, Thailand are the favourites but we want to qualify," We expected weather would be appeared tough for us but we are lucky that we adjusted the condition, Every team is difficult. We take it as big challenge, no chance of taking any side lightly. Before thinking about the other matches, we have to beat the Philippines first. Philippines coach Ernie Nierras We had three training camps, two in US. In November in US, we played LA Vikings Cup (invitational tournament). We played against semi professional teams where some of players played for national team of Mexico and Columbia. Our team won the championship there said Malditas head Coach Ernie Nierras.
'I don't think any of the participating team wants to lose. They want to win and I want to win too. And it's going to be a different starting eleven for every single team. We have prepared that way."
