Russell BU 1st semi on Friday
Dhaka, June 20: Triple crown winners Sheikh Russell faces spirited Brothers Union in the first semifinal of the Grameenphone Super Cup at the Bangabandhu National Stadium on Friday. The match will start at 6:00 pm and BTV will telecast it live.
Sheikh Russell coach Maruful Haque poured respect to his opponents.
“Brothers have the capability to play in the final. Most of their players came from recently concluded Bangladesh Championship League so they are in touch with the game. But we are also prepared and hopeful to reach the final,”
“However we are not in a mood of leaving anything and we are focused to be in the final, in our previous three games our finishing was not that good. We need tuning in that part and I hope tomorrow our finishing will be better,”said Maruf.
Brothers coach Mohidur Rahman Meraj was hoping for an upset.
“I wanted to face Russell in the semifinal. I have my own plan for the game against Russell, you will see. Russell may have all the top level players and even if we lose there’s nothing to lose. There will be one or two changes in the squad according to the strategy, we are hopeful of winning the semifinal and go through said Meraj.
