BD lose to Osotspa Saraburi
Bangkok, July 31: Bangladesh conceded a 2-1 defeat against
Osotspa Saraburi FC in a practice match at the Saraburi Stadium on Wednesday.
Bangladesh had a chance to take the lead in the
15th minute but forward Wahed Ahmed’s shot miss the post from a cutback of winger Mobarak Hossain having
one-on-one situation with opponent goalie.
However, the visitors conceding their first
goal from a counter attack in the 24th minute. After taking a ball the
Thai winger Chamana raced forward to the Bangladesh box from the left and
curved a cross to forward Narong who placed the ball into the net (1-0)
Bangladesh were very close to level the score in the 32nd
minute but Wahed’s weak header was clear by defender Yamamoto from the danger
zone.
Bangladesh were again unfortunate in the 66th
minute when forward Mithun’s shot hit the side post from edge of the box.
Narong doubled the margin for Saraburi FC in
the 68 minute as his powerful shot from the box found the net. (2-0)
Striker Sakhawat Hossain Rony reduced the
margin in the 85th minute from a penalty shot. Forward Toklis was
brought down by opponent defender in the danger zone and the referee whistled
for spot kick. Rony converted it coolly. (2-1)
Bangladesh coach Lodewijk De Kruif expressed his gratitude
to the opponent. “They are matured team. We have to work with our weakness. We
have to deal with that.” said the head coach.
Saraburi FC head coach Chalemvud also praised Bangladesh team, “Bangladesh players are very good in
movement and tactics but they have problem in the striking zone. In this movement they are better than my time.”
