BD beat Thai U-19
Dhaka, August 03: Bangladesh came back in the winning spree beating
Thailand U-19 team 1-0 in their second practice match at the Osotspa Stadium, Bangkok on
Saturday.
Bangladesh had a chance to take the lead in the 14th minute
when midfielder Mamunul Islam’s shot miss the post from the right side of the box.
In the 26th minute Thai U 19 were close to score but Chirimawa’s
header was saved by goalie Sohel on a corner from right flag.
Forward Toklis’s grounder also missed the post in the 28th
minute.
Bangladesh put pressure on Thailand from the beginning of the 2nd half.
After capitalizing a pass from midfield Toklis raced forward to the
box dodging two opponent defenders but his shot again went out the side post.
However, striker Sakhawat Hossain Rony broke the deadlock for Bangladesh in
the 73rd minute. Forward Zahid Hasan Amily put a nice pass to unmark Rony Who placed
the ball into the net without any mistake.
Bangladesh were very close to double the lead in the 85th minute
but Rony’s side volley was denied by opponent goalie on a long throw of
midfielder Raihan .
Coach Lodewijk De Kruif expressed his happiness after winning the
match.“Our boys played a good match today. Ball Possession, Man to Man Marking,
Technically we played good today. The problem is in the finishing line. The
score should have been 5 or 6 goals.
Thailand trip is a good experience for the boys .”
