Fact-finding committee reveal report
Dhaka, Sept 28:
Bangladesh Football Federation’s fact finding committee revealed their report
on the failure of SAFF Championship 2013 held in Nepal on Saturday.
The committee was
formed with Badal Roy, vice president of BFF as convenor and another vice
president of BFF Tabith Awal as member on 17 September.
After inspection the committee presented the
report to the president of BFF Kazi Salahuddin on Saturday.
In a press meet Badal Roy expressed the reasons
and working process of the fact-finding committee. “We put our best effort into
forming the squad, but they failed to give us results. First time BFF has
formed a fact-finding committee. We received a letter on 16 and started working
on 17. 35 people appeared before us for the interviews. We got a very good
response for the effort. We finished our work within seven working days and
prepared our report and recommendations accordingly.” said Badal Roy.
“Coaching staff, head coach, assistant coach,
fitness trainer, and goalkeeping coach at a great expense. Two year deal and
our target was a good result in the SAFF Championship. Two months we gave them.
10 practice matches including two matches in Thailand. We think, despite
offering best facilities, we started badly in the last few SAFFs including this
one. Everyone blamed this coaching staff
for this result because BFF handed all the responsibility/”
“Players claimed some
of them were tired before the match against Nepal. Four important players
injury was not properly answered. Doctor could not give a good reply on their
injuries.”
The committee has
emphasized on the following recommendations:
Foreign coaches should
be appointed for long term. Local two people will assist them.
Coaches should be
aware of target, limitations, environ and players qualities.
Fitness coach
recommended to be sacked from post due to player’s fitness and injury
Head coach should be
more aware of this in the future.
Players should be more
motivated and committed to their job and country.
Mamun, Zahid, Sohel
performance were not up to the mark which made astonish every one.
Zahid did not come on
time in front of the committee. It was one kind of discipline breaking. He is
harmful for the team. This is punishable. The committee recommended for punishment’
Rony hid his injuries.
He should be given warning Mamunul and Sohel should also be given warning for
the future.
Goalkeeper made mistakes
in last two matches. Kees Kalk cannot avoid his responsibility. But his
appointment was a short term one. He can continue and should be more careful in
future.
Club training should
be made in relation to national team’s camp. Training process is not logical.
Training facilities of Premier league should be
more and make the league more competitive one. Clubs should take more steps to
make their players and team more competitive. Club and national team training
should have combination. BFF should take this thing into consideration
seriously.
Foreign player’s quota should be decreased to 2
in turn. A pool of 20-25 players could be brought under monthly salary and
insurance scheme. U-10, U-12 level booters should be brought up with fun
festival way. Age level team like U-14, U-16 and U-18 should be made and
arranged for tournaments across the country every year.
BFF General Secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag and
other BFF officials were also present on the occasion.
