FIFA WC Trophy to be in Dhaka in December
Dhaka, October 7 : FIFA World Cup trophy, the apex sports award of the world will be touring Dhaka on 17th December to 19th December.
The fact was revealed in a press conference at the capital on Monday. BFF president Kazi Salahudin was excited with the development. “It will be a moment of history to witness the ultimate award of sports world in Bangladesh, I hope it will add pace in the development of the game in the country” said the BFF president.
Debashish Dev, the country manager of Coca Cola echoed the same tune. “We are proud to sponsor the FIFA World Cup trophy tour to Bangladesh, it will be staying in the country for three days and football lovers will relish the extraordinary moments” said Dev.
The Tour was developed through an exclusive partnership between FIFA and Coca-Cola, one of FIFA’s longest-standing corporate partners.
This is the third time that the Original FIFA World Cup™ Trophy is going on tour around the world. The 2013/2014 Trophy Tour will visit 88 countries during its 267-day duration.
The Trophy Tour has started its journey in Rio de Janeiro on 12 September 2013. Departing from the famous Christ the Redeemer statue, the FIFA World Cup™ Trophy will travel around the world for nine months before returning to the country that will host the 2014 FIFA World Cup: Brazil.
The total distance covered during the Tour will be 149,576.78 km (92,942.702 miles). In other words, more than three times the circumference of earth!
During the Trophy Tour, fans will be given the chance to enjoy a rare close-up view of the authentic FIFA World Cup Trophy. Free tickets to the 2013/2014 Trophy Tour will be made available to consumers via Coca-Cola promotions in countries on the route.
At events in each city, fans will have the opportunity to have a souvenir photo taken of themselves with the trophy, view a special hologram animation showcasing memorable moments of the FIFA World Cup, participate in interactive displays and enjoy other entertainment.
Fuleco, the Official Mascot of the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™, will also be accompanying the Tour at several stops on its journey.
