Mohsin Arif lauds BD referees
Dhaka, November 9: FIFA Referees Development Officer Mohsin Arif expressed satisfaction over the performance of Bangladesh referees in the five day long Fifa MA Elite Referring Course that concluded at the BFF House on Saturday.
A total of 40 leading referees participated in the course that reflected the latest trends of the refereeing of world football. “The feed back was satisfactory and the level of the course was high, the referees responded well but there is always a room of improvement” said Mohsin Arif.
The Fifa instructor reflected thet job of refereeing is not an easy one. “The job needs supreme physical, mental and psychological fitness, a referee had to fight the odds in every second when he is in the middle with a whistle, I would say Bangladesh referees obtained satisfactory grades but it is not the top, we have advised the federation and the other administration for the taking the required steps” said Mohsin.
Mohsin said his observation is the players are not fully aware of all the rules of football. “Since the inception of modern football the rules have always been changing, the players are not fully aware of it., I have asked the federation to tag the media in to aware the players of the ever changing rules of football, the global game” said Mohsin .
Syed Shahed Reza, the secretary general of Bangladesh Olympic Association was the chief guest in the concluding ceremony. Badal Roy, the vice president of BFF and the chairman of the BFF’s Referees Committee was also present on the occasion.
