Soccer move into quarters
Dhaka, November 23: Soccer Club Feni confirmed quarter finals berth from group one beating Uttar Baridhara 3-2 in the Walton
Federation Cup at the Bangabandhu Stadium on Saturday.
Sk. Jamal Dhanmondi
also moved into the quarter final from group one as they beat Uttar Baridhara
2-0 in their first match.
Feni Soccer took the lead through forward Wasio
Waldikpikpo in the 7th minute. Midfielder Akmal Hossain Biddut put a
pass to the Nigerian forward who scored the goal with a powerful shot just out
side of the box.
Newcomer Uttar Baridhara leveled the score in
the 45th minute. After controlling a ball from midfield, Baridhara
winger Abul Kalam Azad Sumon moved forward to the box and took a shot but Soccer
Club goalkeeper Masud Ahmed failed to clear the ball properly. Indian forward
Faiz Alam shot on rebound from the edge of box hit the back of the net. (1-1)
After the break, Soccer Club went ahead when
Ali Hasan netted on a rebounder after Nigerian forward Ahmed Samson shot was
blocked by Baridhara defender. (2-1)
Soccer Club came back in the game two minutes
later through their defender Khalekyor Jaman. Winger Abul Kalam Azad took a
shot to the goal post and Khalekyor just changed the direction of the ball
before hitting the net. (2-2).
Ali Hasan scored his second and winning goal
for Feni Soccer in the 82nd minute with a placing shot after Baridhara goalie Osman Ganihis failed to hold his header on cross of Midfielder
Ala Uddin. (3-2)
